Video: ATGATT - All The Gear All The Time
I made this video in hopes that another rider will see it and decide to wear all the proper riding gear every time they get on their bike. On July 16, 2013 I was riding a Kymco Like 200i scooter while wearing full riding gear... full face helmet, armored jacket, riding gloves, over the ankle boots and jeans (I have no riding pants). I was about to make a turn and was broadsided by a pickup truck that "didn't see me" and treated his stop sign as a yield sign. I cannot post that portion of the video yet as the insurance company has not settled. It is gnarly, though.I suffered a broken collar bone, broken shoulder blade, torn shoulder tendons and massive bruising all along the left side of my body. I can't imagine how much worse it would have been without the proper riding gear. This video is of me in the ambulance headed to the trauma ER.
If you ride, please wear all the gear all the time no matter what size bike you ride. I cringe every time I see a rider in shorts, a t-shirt and flip flops.
