The Rio Grande Valley

We arrived in the Rio Grande Valley in late October 2010. We bought our 2011 Genuine Blur SS220i scooter in February of 2011 and thus began our tour. Our base was the Mission Bell and Trade Winds RV Resort in Mission, Texas. From there, we fanned out across the upper, mid and lower valley over the course of 9 months. Sadly, in October 2011 we sold our scooter and we no longer ride. This page chronicles our last scooter hoorah.

We had lined up workamping jobs at the Mission Bell RV Resort and we needed to arrive by the end of October. Our workamping job was supposed to last until April 15, 2011 but we enjoyed the area and the park so much we decided to stay for a while. The owners of the resort loved Cynthia and they begged her to keep working there until we left the valley for good. We ended up staying until April of 2012 and for the most part, it was a great stay. Hey, we got to live in the resort for free the whole time!

We visited dozens of neat little towns, ran parallel to the border for miles and miles, ate at some great Mexican restaurants, met some really cool people and saw some very unique sites. Thanks for following along with us as we rode. We're still continuing our Great American RV Road Trip so click on over to the home page and RV along with us! This page has the random pictures we took while we were in the RGV. There are other pages in the picture gallery under Texas that shows the specific places we visted like Bob's World, South Padre Island, The Gladys Porter Zoo in Brownsville, etc. Be sure to check those pages out as well. We hope you enjoy the pictures.

We were here from 10/2010 to 04/2012.
